You can make the changes in your life to be the healthiest version of yourself.
Sometimes we are not sure of the changes we need to make though we know we want something different. Sometimes we are really aware though don’t know where to start.
Ask yourself: What are some of the things that you notice and feel about yourself that aren’t working for you?
Do you…
- Seek change though find yourself self-sabotaging even with best intentions?
- Struggle to be motivated?
- Struggle to be you in relationships?
- You aren’t happy or satisfied?
- Feel lost and not actually sure who you are, or want to be?
- Want more from life, though not sure how to get there?
- Feel stuck – indecisive as to what decisions to make?
- Feel hurt or pain and ready to work on it?
- Feel all these things in your body that are uncomfortable for you?
- Feel shame and it hurts?
- Feel a bubbling rage you can’t control?
- Feel burnt out?
- Overthink?
- Know that your health – mental, physical, spiritual is not optimal?
- Know that you don’t look after yourself, don’t make time to care for you?
- Engage in addictive behaviour or have an addiction?
What is Addiction?
As Gabor Mate says, addiction is complex process that is manifested in any behaviour that person finds temporary pleasure or relief in and therefore craves. Plus, they suffer negative consequences as a result of, and can not give up despite negative consequences. The distinguishing features of addiction are craving, relief, pleasure in the short term, and negative impact in the long term, where there is an inability or unwillingness to give it up.
It’s not what you are doing – it is the internal relationship that is the craving – the why you do it.
The time is now, to prioritise yourself and take the next step.

An observation…
I put seeds in my garden recently and was excited to watch flowers grow. Eventually a small green stem and leaf poked out from the dirt. Though as soon as I saw new growth there was a cold frost. The harsh weather seemed to be too brutal for the plant to have enough time to grow a strong root base, and to receive the nutrients required to thrive.
I spent some time giving the plant extra nutrients, and providing the plant some shelter.
With time, care, and action the plant had an opportunity to grow.
The key is giving yourself the time and care to allow yourself to do the work, to be brave and take action. Change is in behaviour.
Just like the plant you too can get the support and work together to flourish.
